Are you waiting for permission? It's up to you. Take that step!

Are you waiting for someone else to wave the magic wand and give you the go ahead?

Are you sitting on the sideline waiting to get called into the game?

If you are then you are giving away a very important power. And chances are you are giving it away to anybody who will take it.

You are in charge of your life. You are in charge of your dreams. And you are in charge of living your life. It is up to you.

No one else can give you the consent to move forward.

Usually it is fear that holds us back and is the force behind giving our power away. It is fear of living the life you want despite what others might say. It is fear of what others may think that can stop you in your tracks from living your dream life. It is fear that cripples your ability to take that leap of faith.

But the honest truth is that NO ONE can grant you that permission. It really is up to you. Your passion and drive to be who you are meant to be and live your life according to the purpose you innately know is yours must come from you! And that can be the rub – because chances are this is the hardest permission to grant yourself.

If you feel like you are on the edge of really claiming your life on your terms, but are hesitant, take a moment and check in with yourself. If you know, like you know, like you know, that you have a purpose driving your life what is stopping you from taking that first step?

Some things that will help:

These ideas will help form a road map to get you moving. The cliché is true – often the first step is the hardest. Don’t let fear rob you of your purpose and happiness to live life on your terms. The world is waiting for you. Take that step!

  1. What a great article to remind me that I have permission to go forward. Sometimes it feels like I’m sitting at a green light, but I’m in a haze and just not moving. 🙂

  2. You are right, it’s often hard to give this permission to ourselves. Fear blocks our forward movement, but if we change the way we think, we change our response to fear. Your tips help us change the way we think.

  3. Moving forward is never a problem for me. I am the type that will do and sometimes it can be detrimental, but often times the best thing I ever did. All in all, I have never looked back with regret at anytime I stepped up….good or bad outcome

  4. Love your post! It is all up to me! I’m the only one who can stop me. When I believe in something, I pursue it vigorously. It doesn’t matter what others think! Awesome Post!!!!!

  5. I find that writing stuff down is very powerful. More so than to say it in your head. There’s always something that happens when I put my thoughts on paper and it usually happens the way I want it to.

  6. I was told at some point that I had a magic wand, and that all I had to do was wave it and I could do whatever I wanted. It’s the mental equivalent of giving myself permission. It’s worked … all my life. 😉

  7. Write down your purpose. Done. I have in fact created a vision board and a road map of where I want to go. Thanks for letting me feel I’m on the right track. 🙂 Joining in groups with like-minded people also helps boost your motivation on a daily basis plus it gives you the inspiration to keep going and never stop. 🙂

  8. Great article! It certainly is thought provoking! I am in the process of making a number of changes and I know that in the past, fear is what stopped me. No more! 😉 I like what you wrote: “Don’t let fear rob you of your purpose and happiness to live life on your terms.” Thanks so much for sharing!

  9. Interesting how often fear paralyzes people from making any step at all. They rob themselves of many life opportunities by not taking responsibility and stepping into their own lives. Great post that reminds us all to step up and step in to create the life we are wanting to live.

  10. Truly believed in this steps to better your life and challenge yourself to be the best that you can and be happy with it. Although I maybe contented with my life now, I still will follow these steps now to get through things I still want done in my life. Life will always be a challenge and following these great steps will help get anyone there!

  11. This is a great post! We are often afraid of grabbing the lifestyle we want, but after the first step you’re on your way to happiness. I like your idea that we do not need permission to live! Thank you for sharing!
